Reggie Bruce, a West coast playwright, screenwriter, director, producer, and actor, has appeared in a number of urban American dramas such as "The Me That Nobody Knows," "Big Time Buck White" and Abby Lincoln's "The Pig And The Pope," to name a few. The Oklahoma City native portrayed the hard-boiled street thug Murph (the role Al Pacino created on Off Broadway) in the L.A. premiere of Israel Horovitz's internationally celebrated one act "The Indian Wants The Bronx,". While studying with Lee Strasberg, Bruce befriended future Oscar winning screenwriter and producer David Franzoni who encouraged him to write and produce. Bruce went on to write his first one act, "Games Of the Empire." He soon after joined the Actors Studio Writers/Directors Unit under the guidance of director Mark Rydell and award winning playwright Lyle Kessler. Bruce went on to write a number of plays and screenplays as well as perform on stage, television and film. He has sold screenplays to such producers as Ed Pressman, Paramount Pictures, Frank Mancuso, Jr.'s Hometown Pictures, Laurence Taudman's Cin City Pictures, Propaganda Films, Taft/ Bagel Entertainment, Riff Hutton's Black Beans Productions, Michael Sheehy's Sheehy Films, Dr. Dre, and Rack Focus Films. Bruce's first three act play, an urban comedic drama "In Big East", was staged by Obie winning director, the late Hugh Gittens. Reggie Bruce has worked as an actor with such notable talent as James Woods, Ving Rhames, Natasha Richardson, Loretta Devine and Taxi Driver, Raging Bull writer, director Paul Schrader. He also co-scored the soundtrack for the Award winning play "Rounds" with John Densmore, the drummer of the legendary American rock band "The Doors." Reggie was also a member of the rock band The Storm which included Carey Fox and Kim Gardner of the British rock band The Birds. Reggie was romantically linked to Indian actress Persis Khambatta and German actress Nastassjja Kinski. Reggie has also wrote and directed the alternative festival film "Seven Extremely Desperate People", and the short "The Poker Kings." Reggie starred in the lead role of the 1988 feature " Rapid Heart," opposite to Joe Dallasandro. Reggie has one brother, Jack Bruce of Oklahoma City.
