In 1987 the family moved to South Plainfield, New Jersey where Rick went to school. He graduated from South Plainfield High School and promptly moved to New York City to pursue his acting career.

Rick Haak was born in Paterson, NJ to Joseph E Haak and Rosetta Marcella in an Italian/Irish neighborhood. He started acting at age 40 in LA after a successful sales career in High Tech. He found an agent in San Diego, started taking acting classes, and proceeded to land roles as a detective on Behind Bars (Grab Productions) a doctor on VR Troopers (Saban Entertainment), a Rabbi on Unsolved Mysteries (Cosgrove-Meuer Productions). In addition, he completed 6 commercials for Entergy, the utility company out of Arkansas with Maris, West, and Baker, and a commercial for Mighty Action Forces (Ace Novelty). He then took off from acting in 2000 to raise his 3 boys with his wife, Rose, moved to Denver, and continued with his sales career. In 2016, he retired from his sales career, found an agent in Denver (Big Fish Talent), was cast as a detective in 2016 for an episode on Investigation Discoveries True Nightmares. Since 2017, he has completed 4 films with Director and Producer, Milko Davis from Armageddon Films and was cast as the killer, Tony Harwood in an episode for Murder in the Thirst for BET. He Co-Starred as President Ulysses S Grant alongside award-winning actor Michael Spears (Into the West) playing Chief Tendoy in September of 2020 in a short film to be released in 2021 working with award-winning Director Cesar Rodriguez (Ruido 2006) under Blue Drum Films. He added representation in 2020 with NASS Talent Management's Jennie Saks for California, Hawaii, and Montana.
