Upbeat and industrious, Napoleon is a skilled comedy screen actor from England. He tends to play naive opportunists and the hapless, quirky everyman who gets sucked into situations beyond his control. In 'The Black Hole', a short film that has won multiple awards internationally, his character managed to create a breach in the space-time continuum while doing some late night photocopying. During 2008, in conjunction with Channel 4, he was nominated for 4 Talent's Best Comedy Performance Award. He was experimented on during the BBC's Bafta-nominated spoof school science show, 'Look Around You' and starred in a comedy chat show series called 'The Napoleon Complex'. In 2009, 'Adventures on the Environmental Journey', a series of educational films he hosted, won their category at the global Green Awards. Amongst others he has worked on industrial and advertising campaigns for major brands and companies such as Volkswagen, Sony, IKEA, Twix, Ladbrokes and Nescafe. As well as stints in London and the West End in family favorite 'The Gruffalo', his theatre work has included national tours of Britain, Spain, Ireland and Italy plus collaboration with Academy Award Winner Sir Tim Rice on the London revival of his medieval musical 'Blondel'. He writes and produces his own short films and sketches for the Internet and composes classical music on his trombone.
Born in American Samoa and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Napoleon's parents instilled in him the Samoan culture with music and dance at a very young age. The family created their own costumes, did their own make-up, and had original dance choreography that showcased performances all over the Twin Cities. Tavale speaks Samoan fluently. He was a print and runway model for Mall of America. Tavale got involved with a local TV show, "Whatever", where he was a reporter who did movie reviews and interviewed local celebrities like up-and-coming superstar wrestler (at the time) and MN Gopher alumni, Brock Lesnar. Tavale enjoyed playing recreational sports like football and basketball. Today, he plays basketball wherever and whenever he can. Acting took place at Cretin-Derham Hall High School where he got involved in musical theatre productions and one-act plays. Tavale won a Talent Scholarship to Whittier College where he earned a BA in Theatre. After his BA, Tavale's professors encouraged him to audition for Graduate programs through URTA. He auditioned for over 30 schools nationwide, had some great offers, and gladly ended up accepting a full ride scholarship to University of Virginia, where he proudly holds an MFA in Acting. Today, Tavale works as an Acting on Camera Instructor for a College Film School in Los Angeles. (He/Him/His) (IG@NapoleonTavale)
