Born in Rome, Leonardo Guerra Seragnoli is an Italian film director, screenwriter and film producer. He began his artistic career as a musician, alternating from the very beginning musical and film studies. Before committing himself to directing, he completed his musical studies with a summa cum laude in Film Scoring at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and shot his first short film "Carne e Cielo". This work, in addition to representing the beginning of his career as a director, lead him to establish Essentia, a production company founded to support indie films such as "The Wait" by M. Blash, "Jack & Diane" by Bradley Gray and more recently "Arianna" by Carlo Lavagna. In New York Leonardo Guerra Seràgnoli shot "Alfred", an experimental short movie which is part of the W.A.R trilogy that reflects on the issue of war. Later he returned to Europe to continue his studies in Screenwriting at the London Film School and in 2015 attended Berlinale Talents. His first feature film, "Last Summer", is a project with a strong international flavour. The screenplay was written with the graphic novel author IgorT and the collaboration of the Japanese best-selling writer Banana Yoshimoto, who worked on the characterization of the female protagonist, played by Japanese actress, Oscar nominee, Rinko Kikuchi. The costumes are by the multiple Oscar winner Milena Canonero (who also participated in the production), and the editing is by the Austrian Monika Willi, the editor of Michael Haneke. "Last Summer" was presented as a world premiere at the Rome Film Fest in October 2014, winning three prizes. Invited to compete in several festivals, the movie has received numerous awards and gained the favour of critics. Leonardo Guerra Seràgnoli's latest feature is titled "Likemeback", produced by Essentia, Nightswim and Indiana Production, starring the young Italian actresses Angela Fontana, Blu Yoshimi and Denise Tantucci; the director of photography is Gianfilippo Corticelli and the music is by Alva Noto.
