Lauren Roman was born in Wilmington, North Carolina to a Marine Corps family, and grew up in North Carolina and Virginia. While she was an honor student at Langley High School, she landed her first professional acting job at age 15 with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC. Lauren became a member of their Traveling Young Players, earning a lead role in the touring musical "Footsteps in the Sky." During two years at the University of Virginia, she was part of the prestigious Echols Scholars program and studied philosophy and acting. Lauren relocated to New York City, where she originated the role of troubled young runaway "Laura Kirk English" on the ABC daytime television program All My Children (1970) and starred in the show from 1995-1998. After relocating from New York to Los Angeles, she went on to Guest Star and Supporting roles in such projects as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (WB), "The Division" (Lifetime), "Roswell" (WB), "The David Cassidy Story" (NBC), "Chicken Soup for the Soul" (PAX), and "Outreach" (WB Pilot). After 7 years in Los Angeles, Ms. Roman returned to her southern roots, this time relocating to Nashville TN. Her most recent appearances include a recurring role in ABC's prime time hit "Nashville" and supporting roles in films such as the Nicole Kidman thriller "Stoker" and the uplifting family drama "Grace Unplugged." In addition to her acting career, Ms. Roman is a sought-after Christian motivational speaker and singer who specializes in the pro-life arena, working with pregnancy help centers throughout the United States. She has released two recorded projects in support of her ministry work: inspirational EP "Songs of Hope and Healing," as well as her most recent single, the stirring worship anthem "God of Amazing."
