Gary has built a reputation as a visual storyteller, having directed commercials for global brands such as Gatorade, Adidas, EDF, UGG, Guinness, Machine Zone, Samsung and collaborated with top agencies including TBWA/Chiat/Day Los Angeles, M&C Saatchi, 180 Amsterdam, Creature London, Young Euro RSCG Dublin and Leo Burnett India. Having graduated from the National Film School in 2006, Gary won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Student Drama for his graduation film, 'The Draft'. That same year he earned a Young Director Award nomination at the Cannes International Advertising Festival. In 2010 Gary was named on The Black List for Aspiring Filmmakers; a list of a dozen filmmakers to watch determined by studio execs, producers and industry insiders. In 2011, he was featured in Saatchi & Saatchi's prestigious New Directors Showcase for a faux trailer, 'The Cup of Tears'. In 2014 Gary made his feature film debut with the fantasy epic, 'Dracula Untold', part of a three-picture deal for Universal Pictures. The film was a global success amassing $215,000,000 at the worldwide box office, becoming number one in over thirty countries, and number two at the US box office, beaten only by David Fincher's, 'Gone Girl'. Upon release 'Dracula Untold' Blu-Ray topped the US charts in February of this year, and in over thirty other countries.
Gary Sievers was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of 6 children Brothers Robert and Phillip and Sisters, Carol, Johanna, and Theresa Parents, Mother, Rosamond, from Anthony Kansas and Father, Henry, an immigrant from Eissen Germany. Gary started self employment with a paper route at age 11 for 6 years. Worked at his Fathers Auto Repair shop during his teen years. Played high school sports and graduated from Tulsa Bishop Kelley High School. Attended the University of Tulsa for 2 years. Joined the Army National Guard serving 6 years during the Viet Nam Era. Worked various jobs after discharge and Married Bettie Wood later divorced with no children. 4 years later, married Jackie Denson later divorced with one child Andria Leigh Sievers. After divorcing second wife, never remarried, remaining single to present. Raised daughter as a single custodial parent.... Always an outdoors person spending summers working on Grandfathers Ranch in Kansas and spending leisure time camping out and a water skiing fanatic during summer months, and riding motorcycles. Gary has hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and holds a Private Pilot Airplane License. Took up hobby of Pool Billiards and become a very proficient pool player. Travels have taken Gary all over the USA with several visits to Europe including a trip thru East Germany during Communist Control before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Other Work experiences included 15 years as an owner/operator of a Commercial Trash Company in Tulsa and 10 years as a Professional Boxing Trainer/Manager and the President of a Video Production Company in Tulsa that eventually led him to make a move to Hollywood California where he currently lives and is seeking a career in the Movie Industry, while maintaining another home in Oklahoma. Gary currently has an active career in both acting and production.
Gary Alan Sinise was born in Blue Island, Illinois, to Mylles S. (Alsip) and Robert L. Sinise, A.C.E., a film editor. He is of Italian (from his paternal grandfather), English, Scottish, Irish, French, German, and Swedish ancestry. His family moved to Highland Park, where he attended high school. He was something of a rebel, playing in bands but paying little attention to school. Gary and some friends tried out for "West Side Story" as a lark, but Gary was hooked on acting for life by closing night. Gary credits his love for theatre to his drama teacher, Barbara Patterson. In 1974, Gary, Terry Kinney, and Jeff Perry founded the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. Initially performing in a church basement, the company grew and gained stature in the Chicago area. In addition to acting in many plays, Gary also directed some of Steppenwolf's most notable productions, including Sam Shepard's "True West". The company made its off-Broadway debut with that production, starring Gary and John Malkovich, and its Broadway debut with "The Grapes of Wrath" at the Cort Theatre in 1990. Gary's Hollywood career also started in the director's chair with two episodes of the stylish TV series Crime Story (1986), followed in 1988 by the feature Miles from Home (1988) starring Richard Gere. Gary's first feature film as an actor was the World War II fable A Midnight Clear (1992) in 1992. That year also found Gary combining his acting and directing talents with the critically acclaimed Of Mice and Men (1992). His first real notice by the public came in 1994, however. He starred in the blockbuster miniseries The Stand (1994), rapidly followed by his bravura performance as "Lt. Dan" in Forrest Gump (1994). His portrayal of the disabled, emotionally tortured veteran earned Gary numerous awards and an Oscar nomination. Busy 1994 was followed by busy 1995, first reuniting with Tom Hanks in Apollo 13 (1995) and then starring in the HBO film Truman (1995) which earned him the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards and an Emmy nomination. Gary is married to Moira Sinise, an actress and original member of the Steppenwolf company. They have three children, Sophie Sinise, McCanna Anthony Sinise and Ella Sinise.
