Florian Rummel

Prior to his actors training and career, Florian Rummel took part in free theatre groups and was a singer and guitar player in a Ska band and various ensembles. During his community service Florian staged a theatre project with deaf people. He and the cast were invited to perform at the German Youth Theatre Meeting. During his studies in Graz (2000 - 2004) Florian performed at the Grazer Schauspielhaus and worked as a news reader for a local radio station. In 2004 Florian Rummel started his engagement at the Theater Rostock with the role of Gerenot in the Nibelungs, followed, among others, by: Lysander/Thisbe in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Roller in The Robbers, Achilles in Penthesilea, Ferdinand in Intrigue and Love, Mackie Messer in The Three Penny Opera, Norman in Ladies Night, Wilhelm in Grimm's Fairy Tales for Children, Horatio in Hamlet and Officer O'Hara in Arsenic and Old Lace. In the 2007/08 season Florian switched to the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater in Schwerin, where he played Andres in Woyzeck, Haemon in Antigone, Chance Wayne in Sweet Bird of Youth, Jonathan Harker in the Musical Dracula (Peter Dehler), Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. Since 2010 Florian Rummel has been living in Berlin as an ensemble member of the Grips Theater, where he performs in various plays, e.g. Big Deal? (David S. Craig), Julius und die Geister (Volker Ludwig), Die besseren Wälder (Martin Baltscheit), Pünktchen trifft Anton (Volker Ludwig based on Erich Kästner's no-vel), Kebab Connection (Anno Saul) and Durst (Thomas Ahrens). As of the 2013/2014 season he will join the ensemble at the Schauspiel Stuttgart. Florian has appeared in short films by Götz Spielmann, Barbara Albert, Stefan Fent and Christian Schwochow. In 2012 he appeared in David Wnendts movie feature Feuchtgebiete.

Florian Schnell

Born in Lörrach Germany. Florian Schnell started studying fictional artwork on University of Hildesheim and did various internships for stage and film. From 2008 to 2015 directing student at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy. Scholarship of the "Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes". Participant of the exchange programme "Hollywood-Workshop" at UCLA in LA. Many of his movies were national and international awarded. In 2010 he received the award of the best German young director. His movie "Mia and the Minautor" recently won the best children's movie at the well known German Filmfestival Goldener Spatz His graduation film "Offline" was nominated for the "Max Ophüls Preis", one of Germanys oldest and most acclaimed Filmfestivals and won the LEO award for the best Youth movie. Florian Schott

Florian is a German born filmmaker based in Namibia since 2009. He got his start as a First Assistant Director in 2002, and has worked in film worldwide including Europe, Africa, South America, and Antarctica. Florian wrote, produced, and directed self-financed Short Film, Everything Happens for a Reason, which won the Afrinolly Short Film Competition in Nigeria in 2014, as well as the Award for Best Director at the 2014 Namibian Theatre & Film Awards. In 2015, Florian directed and co-wrote his first Feature Film, Katutura, which became one of the most successful Namibian films to date. It screened at various international film festivals and won seven Awards at the 2017 Namibian Theatre & Film Awards, including Best Narrative Film and Best Director. In 2019, Florian directed and co-wrote Short Film, Baxu and the Giants, which won multiple international Awards including Best Foreign Narrative at the San Francisco Independent Short Film Festival and Best Director at the 2020 Dreamanila International Film Festival. It also became the first Namibian film on Netflix. Florian has also worked in television, directing select episodes of long-running crime series for German television. He has two feature films and a limited African television series in development.
