David Palmer's stylized storytelling ability as a director has shaped the landscape of the visual arts to span across music videos, commercials, documentary feature films and theatrical motion pictures. Palmer has been traveling the world for Microsoft, a role which he has taken on since 2014 as the director of a series of highly praised global docu-storytelling commercials for the Microsoft Brand and more recently, the Microsoft Cloud. Palmer's aspirational campaigns have taken him to Africa to show how drones are helping save the Black Rhino to New Orleans, where former Saints football player and ALS spokesman Steve Gleason is using technology to not only communicate words of inspiration in accepting no limitations in life under any circumstance. His travels have included shoots in Myanmar, London, Rio, Uganda, Namibia and Kenya most recently. Microsoft premiered Palmer's commercial "Technology" during the broadcast of Super Bowl XLVIII (2014) to become the 8th most watched and talked about commercial around the event and followed up at Super Bowl XLIX (2015) by airing Palmer's commercial "Braylon" as the 4th most talked about and watched commercial of the record-setting broadcast according to AdMeter. Following a successful commercial and music video career, David Palmer leaped into directing feature films in March of 2010 with the Showtime premiere of his acclaimed documentary America Stripped: Naked Las Vegas, which honed his ability to connect with a myriad of dynamic subjects while enabling each of them to open up and be honest on camera. Shot over two years with Palmer also lensing the film, it would become the 5th most watched documentary in Showtime Platform history during its airing and set the blueprint for Palmer's unique directing and shooting style. Palmer leapt into scripted feature films next, collaborating with Dax Shepard on Primate Picture's meta style satirical rockumentary Brothers Justice; a comedic parody about Shepard making a decision to leave comedy to pursue his dream of becoming an international Martial Arts star at any cost. Tribeca Films released the film in April of 2011. In 2011, Palmer and Shepard teamed up again for their 2nd Primate Pictures motion picture, the romantic action comedy Hit & Run. Starring Shepard, Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Kristin Chenoweth and Beau Bridges, Hit & Run is the story of Charlie Bronson (Shepard), a nice guy with a questionable past who risks everything when he busts out of the witness protection program to deliver his fiancé (Kristen Bell) to Los Angeles to seize a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity. Open Road released the film theatrically nationwide on August 22, 2012. Made for 2M, the film grossed nearly 14M domestically. David Palmer attended the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. Palmer's directing career launched with hit music videos for Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige & Ja Rule, Toni Braxton, Juvenile, Nelly & The Dandy Warhols - to name a few. Palmer made his documentary imprint as both a Director and D.P. for the acclaimed MyCadillacStory.com campaign for GM/Cadillac. Palmer's Stories of Jimmy Johnson, Coach K and Jay Leno, helped solidify MyCadillacStory's YouTube destination as the 5th most watched branded channel that year. His company Palmer Productions is located in Venice California.
