David Bohorquez is a Colombian filmmaker, commercial, and music video director who graduated from Lasalle college's graphic design program with a focus on 3D animation, VFX, and motion graphics. David started his career by directing a music video for a local artist. The release of his first music video landed David an internship with Black Smith Studios (International 3D & VFX company based in Beirut, Lebanon). At Black Smith, David participated in some architectonic projects and directed a short film. Upon returning to Colombia, David shot his first TV commercial for the Colombian channel Canal Capital. Through time, the style of David's videos cough the attention of the Colombian Rock Band Aterciopelados (Latin Grammy Award Winner) who hired him to direct a music video for one of their songs. David later traveled to Los Angeles where he studied Filmmaking at the The New York Film Academy. Upon successful completion of his program, David returned to Colombia. In 2014, his first film opened in fourth place at the Colombian box office against Hollywood blockbusters. He has directed nearly 100 music videos that have over two billion views in YouTube. His extensive list of artists kept growing as he directed music videos for Maluma, J Balvin, Sebastian Yatra and other artists. His visionary music videos earned David awards and honors such as an MTV MIAW Award for best music video in 2018, for the music video"No Hay Nadie Mas" by Sebastian Yatra. His second full length film, CALIBAN, the first in English, will premiere in theaters in 2019.
