Darryl Eugene Small was born September 18th 1968 in Neptune NJ. He is the son of Joyce E. Small nee Woods an Office Administrator. He attended Lakewood Sr. High School and was introduced to performing arts by his Gospel Choir pianist Mr. Ronnie Perry. Recognized as a triple threat he could sing dance and act so naturally he performed in anything the school or surrounding venues and organizations had to offer. It wasn't until after he served in the US ARMY that he decided to move to Hollywood and pursue his dreams of being on stage and on the big screen. He was the lead MC for the Hip Hop Rock band 4 or 5 Dopes. They recorded Back 2 the Beats produced by Grammy Award Nominee Dwayne Muffla Simon of Uncle Jams Army and the producer of Grammy Award winner LL Cool J. Between performing on stage and DJing local Hollywood venues such as the Roxbury, Troubadour, Dragonfly, Whiskey and Coconut Teaser Darryl DJ EDDIE MARZ was starting to make a name for himself. His over the top antics on stage started to catch the attention of show directors in NYC. So in 1998 Darryl packed up his fiance and 7 year old son and moved to Brooklyn NY where he still resides with his family. Ironically when he moved to Brooklyn it wasn't his DJing that was in demand but his acting skills. He has performed in several stage plays and independent films but don't worry he is still making music and has produced four albums under the DJ EDDIE MARZ moniker and most notably won the Brooklyn Philharmonic Remix Contest. His track was selected over thousands of contestants and was orchestrated by Grammy Award winning Composer Andrew Norman and conducted by Alan Pierson. The production also included works with Yasiin Bey formerly Mos Def, Ms. Leslie Uggams and a tribute to the late great Ms. Lena Horne. He is always in the Studio and looking forward to making many more Movies and Stage Plays. His favorite quote is "It's Never To Late To Start" So hold on to your dreams.
