Darren was born in Parramatta, an outer suburb of Sydney Australia. He attended Northmead High School (now a performing arts high school), studying during his time art, music and drama. During his time there he was a part of a Shakespeare review, playing the role of Hamlet, made the school representative teams in basketball, Rugby league and Rugby Union and had his year 12 art work represent in "Art Express". Playing in bands since the age of 15, he continued to pursue a career in music until the late 1990's . Changing path's, tho continuing to perform, he began working as an actor, taking various bit part and extras roles before landing his first professional job in the docu-drama , Something About AJ (2002) , principle photography in December-February period of 2000 - 2001. Darren soon after began to land other acting jobs, varying from roles in short film projects, stage productions, independent and studio films as well as US TV pilots. Reflecting on his time with radio station 2CCR in Sydney, where he spent several years in the 1990's hosting and co-hosting shows, Darren also began doing voice over work, lending his voice to indie animations as well as a number of regional television campaigns. For some time now tho, he has been balancing his work in front of camera as an actor with his work as a writer/director. Working on numerous smaller projects in different crew roles before taking on the role as director, Darren's films have shown to international audiences and he has won praise for his "keen sense of story, flow and movement" and for being on set, "an actor's director", motivating his actors from a place of empathy and understanding.

Darren trained for two months prior to filming to be able to properly execute these high level and demanding stunts. Darren played "The Sentry", the Frost Giant guard to King Laufey. He instigates the battle when he tells Thor to "Run Back Home Little Princess." He also tried to freeze Loki, only to realize that Loki was part Frost Giant as well. He was pleased to have been made into an action figure along side his other cast mates. In addition to his mainstream industry performances, Darren has also appeared in a variety of independent films, including "Disorder", "Infliction", "One Buck" , "Snowbound" and "A Mormon President". He played the lead role in Without Mercy, which won the Grand Jury Award for best picture at the New York Film and Video Festival. He also played the lead role in "Disorder", which was distributed by Universal Pictures, (which was re-released by Monarch Films in the fall of 2017). It was also screened at Cannes Film Festival. Darren is presently on the Netflix Original, "Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever." where he plays the eye patch wearing FBI Agent Schade. Darren was born in Cape Cod, but his journey towards an acting career began when his family moved to the small island of St. Simons, eight miles off the coast of Georgia. Where at a young age he became a professional equestrian. Although he loved to ride, things were taking a turn. After immersing himself in the local community theater and with his passion officially ignited, Darren brought himself to Long Island University where he earned a B.F.A. in theater and film. He engrossed himself in his studies at LIU, excelling in Acting, Dance, Voice, and improve studies. Upon graduating, he moved to NYC to continue perfecting his craft,. While there he worked with a variety of theatre companies. Darren eventually found himself modeling and traveling across Europe for a year, living in Paris, Athens, Madrid and Milan. He's spent the past 8 years in L.A.., living out his passion for the arts, and he is so grateful for the opportunities he has been able to pursue there, surrounded by others who share his passion for storytelling. Now matter where Darren's travels have taken him, every new place and experience has added a new layer of richness to his worldview, as well as his work. When he's not on set, Darren enjoys Volunteering at the Braille Institute, traveling, golf, tennis, and spending time with friends. He has been known to take occasional road trips across the U.S.
Darren Kent was born and raised in Essex with a gravelly Cockney accent. He graduated from Italia Conti in 2007. After his college studies, he went on to become a Pontins Bluecoat. He went on to film his first acting role, starring in the 20th-Century-Fox Film 'Mirrors'. He is a keen Writer, Director and Producer but is mainly known for his acting work. Darren won 'Best Actor' Award at the Van D'or Awards Ceremony back in 2012 for the character Danny, in the movie Sunnyboy.
