Claude Brickell (writer/director) has had an extensive career in the Hollywood film industry as development exec. He began as a story analyst for Dustin Hoffman at Sweetwall Productions on the Burbank Lot. From there, he moved up to project development for producer Phil Feldman at First Artists Productions (A Star is Born) on the Burbank Lot where he developed projects for Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand and Paul Newman, among others. From there, he moved to the MGM Lot as executive story editor (also project development) for producer Jay Weston at Jay Weston Productions (Lady Sings the Blues). Brickell then became Hollywood rep for France's 3rd largest film facility La Victorine Studios on the Riviera in Nice where he helped bring 20th Century Fox's The Jewel of the Nile with Michael Douglas, Warner Bros.' Under the Cherry Moon with Prince and John Frankenheimer's miniseries Riviera to the South of France lot. Brickell began as a writer/director with his featurette The Good-bye which aired on PBS following with his first feature That Summer which was an official selection at the World Film Festival in Montreal. His second feature, Havana, Habana, filmed in both the US and Cuba, was an official selection at the Rome Independent Film Festival in Italy. Brickell continues as a writer/director and has in development his third feature Risky Obsessions. He is a graduate of New York University Film School and a director member of the Actors Studio, and he has taught film acting for the Lee Strasberg Theater Inst. and screenwriting at New York University.
