Ajay Friese
Ajay Friese (Ajay Parikh-Friese) is an American/Canadian actor and musician. He was a series regular during all three seasons of the Netflix sci-fi drama Lost in Space (2018), and has held recurring roles on four other Netflix Original Series, including Riverdale (2017) and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016). His debut in film came in 2019 as a lead in the critically acclaimed Riot Girls (2019) (from the executive producer of Insidious (2010)). He is cast as the lead in the upcoming crime/mystery feature film Coming Soon, from the producer of The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015), and is also set to play Deshad in the upcoming Apple+ film The Beanie Bubble, produced by Ron Howard and starring Elizabeth Banks and Zach Galifianakis. Friese's acting career began in live theatre, with more than a dozen credits including Oliver Twist in Oliver! and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream. While thrilled to have acted with several professional theatre and opera companies, his role as The Phantom in his high school's production of Phantom of The Opera is a personal favorite. Beyond the screen and stage, Ajay is also a songwriter and recording artist. His debut album ("light a match... then run") was recorded in NYC, with Bon Jovi's Everett Bradley as producer, and was released in 2021. While in high school, Ajay's band Close The Bombay Doors' EP was recognized with three Vancouver Island Music Awards. Ajay was the lyricist, lead composer, vocalist and guitarist for the band, who in 2014 performed at the Rifflandia Music Festival. Ajay is from Victoria, BC, on Canada's west coast. Ajay Fry
As the Host of InnerSPACE, AJAY FRY is no stranger to SPACE or the airwaves. Born in Toronto, Ajay attributes his bizarre and creative sense of humour to growing up in Ottawa. His career in television began at an early age with roles on LASSIE, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK and BIG WOLF ON CAMPUS. He also regularly lent his young voice to cartoons such as ARTHUR, LITTLE LULU and CAILLOU. As a teenager, Ajay studied and performed improvisational comedy at Ottawa's popular comedy club The iNSTiTUTiON under owner and Second City alumnus Ken Godmere. Shortly after turning 18, Ajay traveled to Beijing, China where he voiced a series of educational videos which were distributed across the country. In 2003 Ajay came to Toronto to study comedy and improv. He completed the conservatory program at The Second City and the Humber College Comedy program where he became a nominee for the prestigious Phil Hartman Award. After graduating, Ajay joined YTV as host of CRUNCH, their popular Saturday morning programming block. Ajay delighted YTV audiences for two years before joining SPACE in 2008 as host of the weekly genre entertainment show, THE CIRCUIT. In fall 2009, Ajay joined forces with Teddy Wilson to co-host SPACE's flagship daily genre entertainment show, InnerSPACE. As the voice of SPACE, each episode of InnerSPACE is locked and loaded to deliver an action-packed half-hour. Genre experts Ajay, Teddy and Cynthia Loyst go beyond the studio and into the field giving viewers front-row access to big buzz events, unparalleled behind the scenes access and coveted interviews with genre's biggest stars.
