Penelope Granycome
Penelope grew up by the sea in Gibraltar and Dorset, the daughter of a Naval Officer and a Teacher.
She has featured in several award-winning films which have screened at major festivals including at the the BFI London Film Festival, Visions du Réel, Raindance Film Festival, Cannes, and in the US. Her other work includes many broadcast short films and commercials, as well as photographic shoots including working several times with worldwide acclaimed fine art photographer, Julia Fullerton-Batten. A photograph of Penelope taken by Julia in the first UK lock-down featured in the global press, was the subject of a programme on SKY Arts and the cover of a Hangar Art PhotoBrussels coffee table book.
Penelope's recent commercial work includes LNER, Samsung, Checkatrade, and Capital One as well as formerly for BT Sport, Domino's, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Daimler Chrysler, and charities Quit Anti-Smoking and Body & Soul.
She holds a BA Honours Degree in English Literature and Drama from renowned Arts College Bretton Hall and trained and performed for many seasons with the world recognised National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, acting, singing and dancing in the West End.
She is passionate about animal and marine conservation, an accomplished advanced scuba diver and enjoys sailing, horse riding and being on or below water. Penny also writes professionally about travel, diving and well-being for several leading UK magazines.
Penelope holds an HSE medical certificate for diving in the media and a Royal Yachting Association competent crew certification.
