Lindsey Hawkes
Lindsey Rae Hawkes was born in Virginia in 1986 to a military family. She spent many years in the South and loves occasionally using her Southern charm and accent when filming. Her family moved frequently and eventually settled in Utah, where Lindsey now resides with her husband and 3 kids.
As a child Lindsey learned hard work. Her parents invested in real estate to support their military income. At 13 years old Lindsey was strong enough to handle all the power tools and worked alongside her older brothers remodeling dozens of homes; she could roof a house and tile a shower. She also picked up the business end of things, doing the bookkeeping and property management. To this day Lindsey still manages 2 of her family's rentals and an Airbnb.
Lindsey is a thrill seeker and travel addict. She loves skydiving and dreams of scuba diving. She loves roller coasters, and if she didn't have a family she would love to try base jumping. She has snorkeled at Cano Island Costa Rica, the Florida Keys, Hawaii, and the Bahamas. Her dream is to travel the world. Next on her list of places to visit is Switzerland. If she could talk her husband into it she would live as a nomad or perhaps try out van life. But for now, Lindsey enjoys the great outdoors. She is constantly hiking, camping, kayaking, and in the winter loves skiing. She craves adventure, and no one is surprised when she takes off on random road trips and sleeps at the beach.
Lindsey is an advocate for building awareness of invisible illnesses. She has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis since a teen but has learned to live with her chronic disease and does not let it hold her back or effect her work. She is a proponent of normalizing mental health treatment and conversation.
In 2007 Lindsey graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Marketing and Public Relations, which has served her well. She worked for the Army ROTC before settling into full-time Mom mode. Lindsey loves working and can't sit still for long, so even while raising her young kids she found things to do. She has been a photographer, Pilates instructor, event planner, owned a furniture consignment business, and more. When her youngest approached kindergarten Lindsey considered what to do next and pursued background work in the film industry.
Lindsey has always been a creative. She joined every art club from elementary school to high school. Even in college every elective was theater, ceramics, or photography. She started taking photos at 9-years old with her dad's film camera and got her first digital camera and photoshop program at 11. In high school Lindsey learned dark room developing and won awards at school competitions. She was constantly making her friends and sisters model in front of her camera. She used the family video recorder to edit her own talk shows and beauty pageants. At every family gathering Lindsey orchestrated plays and performances. She has a knack for organizing and directing the efforts of others, and hopes to one day direct a play or film. She did theater through school, but hasn't been in a play since. Now she helps her kids audition for their school programs and would like to be on stage with them one day. Occasionally you'll see her husband and kids join her in a commercial.
Even with her passion for art, Lindsey never imagined herself as a working actress or model. When she started doing extra work, it was out of curiosity. But Lindsey became absorbed in it and in the people. There was so much to learn from being on set, and the energy was invigorating. Slowly it turned from a hobby to a career. Lindsey signed with an agent and started to audition for bigger roles. She soon landed a part in Yellowstone, which resulted in her current hairstyle and a new diverse brand. She loves the versatility she has with short hair. She is able to play many characters and has gotten used to filming and modeling in wigs, or even bald caps and special effects. She would love to one day work on a period piece, and perhaps even show off her RP British accent.
Lindsey realized she enjoyed modeling after her first headshot session and began pursuing opportunities in that direction as well. Lindsey is now recognized in the Utah industry as a modeling coach, mentor, and creative director. She has organized dozens of photoshoots, workshops, and events. She has taught several modeling classes at Utah talent agencies, as well as Social Media & Marketing, and Self Tape Auditioning classes. She has been published in over a dozen magazines and worked for many brands.
