Leon Masuda
Leon Masuda was born in Tokyo, Japan, and is a multi talented actress, model, ballerina, swimmer, and Sumie painter who is fluent in both Japanese and English. As a child actress, Leon appeared in television shows, music videos, commercials, and magazines, and modeled for top brands like TOYOTA. She was also the first UNICEF Kids Ambassador in Japan.
In 2014, Leon won the lead actress role in the acclaimed film An American Piano (2014), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won Best Film in Documentary at the Navi Mumbai International Film Festival. Since then, she has continued to make waves in the industry.
Leon moved to Beverly Hills, California, in 2016, where she founded the Anime Club at Beverly Hills High School and became the club's first president. Her passion for anime and pop culture led her club to become the first to be invited to join the Anime Club Union, which includes all high school and college anime clubs in California.
In her free time, Leon collects manga/comic books and is an avid LEGO builder. Leon graduated from Denenchofu Elementary School in Tokyo, Japan, in 2014; Horace Mann School, Beverly Hills in 2016; and Beverly Hills High School in 2020. She is currently a computer science and engineering student at the University of California, Irvine. In the long term, she aspires to be like Hedy Lamarr, who successfully balanced careers in both entertainment and technology. Her dedication to authentic representation and storytelling is reflected in her work, and she believes that Japanese pop culture has the power to connect people all over the world.
