Gene Ware
Gene Ware was in black films in the 1940's and 1950's. He was also a musician and toured in groups throughout the United States. He told of what it was like to be a black entertainer on the road, without any bitterness.
He retired as a Police Officer with the LAPD, and subsequently became a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Airport Police.
He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol and had served as the Squadron Commander of the old Squadron 33 in Van Nuys, California in the late 1960's.
