David A. Crellin
David A. Crellin is an actor, director, writer, cabaret singer and circus performer. He trained at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute & Eric Morris Actor's Workshop. He co-founded and was the Ringmaster of Circus Contraption, an internationally lauded, one-ring traveling circus. As his alter-ego Armitage Shanks, he has traveled the world as an MC and Cabaret performer
Stage directing and co-writing credits include "Viva OZ Vegas" & Off-Broadway's "Squirm Burpee- A Vaudevillian Melodrama".
He has worked as a stuntman for feature film, commercial television and live performance shows.
He was featured in the January 2009 issue of PLAYBOY France, The Febuary 2009 issue of PLAYBOY Italy, Dans (Netherlands), as well as TIME OUT LONDON, which hailed him as " One of the darkest-hearted comperes on the burlesque circuit- not only a biting ringmaster, but a unique singer as well". Dublin's LeCool Magazine branded him as "A Cabaret Legend", and Australia's Culture & the Media stated, "Armitage Shanks thrilled audiences- resistance to his charismatic gaze was not an option." Seattle's THE STRANGER said "Armitage Shanks has a voice like honey-coated gravel. A Victorian Music Hall barker, he struck just the right tone. He was a sinister and louche presence, who put some sex in the air."
